Water Safety Programs and Information
Water Safety is more important now than ever! Pools remain closed in our communities due to the stay-home stay healthy order in response to Covid-19. Because of the many pool closures in the state of Washington families temporarily will not have access to critical swim lessons and water safety programs.
Our goal as an aquatics facility is to educate all ages in the lifelong skills of water safety and ensure individuals, and families can safely enjoy aquatic-based programs. Please join the Tukwila Pool Metropolitan Park District and our water safety partner the American Red Cross as we continue sharing, and teaching water safety programs.

Don't Just Pack It, Wear Your Jacket
In the video down below, we demonstrate the importance of a properly fitted life jacket. The four steps start with checking the chest size, weight, and Coast guard approval. Second thing is to make sure the life jacket isn’t worn or torn on the traps and seams of the life jacket. Third, the life jacket needs to be nice and tight for the swimmer by having a parent help with the straps. Fourth, swimming safely with a parent or another adult is a must to ensure the new swimmer stays safe and has fun while swimming in the water. We encourage you to watch as a family and discuss what you learned together. Click Here for Longfellow’s WHALE Tales video!
